Our treatments

At Copenhagen Private Clinic, we always start with a thorough professional assessment, where we look at the type of hair loss, the patient’s wishes and the specific options in each case. On this basis, we assess which treatment is right, after which we plan the treatment course in collaboration with the patient.

Hair transplant

We perform hair transplantation using FUE and DHI implantation for both men and women. The treatment can be used to re-establish the hairline and temples, treat hair loss in the crown area, or create more hair coverage in areas of the scalp with significant thinning or lack of hair growth. We also perform beard and eyebrow transplantation.

In a hair transplant, hair follicles are moved from a suitable donor area to the recipient areas where more hair is desired. The donor area is typically the neck and sides of the head. The cause may include a congenital high hairline, hair growth affected by disease, scar tissue, and hereditary and age-related hair loss.

When FUE harvesting and DHI implantation are performed with care by an experienced practitioner, the method is gentle and precise. It allows for working with hairline, density and growth direction, so that the treatment is tailored to the individual patient and the result appears natural.

During a consultation, we assess your hair loss, donor area, hair quality, scalp and your wishes in context. Based on this, we advise you on your options.

Briefly about FUE and DHI

FUE stands for Follicular Unit Extraction. Here, small units of tissue, called grafts, are individually removed from the donor area. A graft typically contains 1–5 hairs.

DHI stands for Direct Hair Implantation. Here, grafts are implanted directly with a special implantation pen without prior incisions in the skin.

PRP-treatment

PRP treatment is a regenerative treatment that can be relevant for both men and women with incipient hair loss or thinning, but also for those who want to support hair quality, growth and vitality without necessarily experiencing hair loss. The treatment is based on the patient’s own blood and the growth factors released by the platelets. PRP is used to stimulate hair follicles and tissue in the areas being treated.

At Copenhagen Private Clinic, we see PRP as an important part of the treatment of hair loss. It can be included as a standalone procedure or as a supplement to hair transplantation, where our experience is that in many cases it can support both growth and healing. We also use the same regenerative approach in skin treatments, including on the face.

Other treatments

In addition to hair transplantation and PRP, we also offer other treatment options for hair loss, including minoxidil, finasteride, SMP and in selected cases mesotherapy. The choice of treatment depends on the type of hair loss, the patient’s wishes and the professional assessment.

The price depends on the scope of treatment, the number of grafts and the specific treatment plan. During the consultation, we will make an individual assessment and prepare a written presentation with price and practical information.

The need for grafts is assessed based on the extent of hair loss, the quality and density of the donor area, and the desired result. During the consultation, we look at the whole picture and assess what is realistic and professionally sound in the individual case.

The treatment is performed under local anesthesia. The anesthesia itself can be felt when it is applied, which takes a few minutes. Once the anesthesia has been applied, there is no pain. We emphasize that the procedure is as calm and comfortable as possible.

Frequently asked questions before a consultation

Many people want answers to a few practical and treatment-related questions before booking a free consultation. Here we have compiled some of the topics we are most often asked about in connection with hair transplantation and hair loss treatment.

  • 3–4 months: New hair growth begins
  • 6–7 months: About half of the hairs have grown out
  • 10–12 months: The final result is achieved
  • In rare cases, hair growth can continue for up to 18 months.

In the days following the treatment, you will have scabs in the donor area (neck and sides) and the recipient area. This can be hidden with a cap that does not touch the recipient area.

Many people experience mild itching and irritation of the scalp. It is also normal for the scalp and sometimes the face to swell.

After about 10 days, there are no longer any scabs and you look normal again.

After 10 days you can start light training, and after 14 days you can train normally again.

PRP may in some cases be relevant as a supplement to hair transplantation or as a standalone treatment for incipient hair loss or thinning. It depends on the type of hair loss and the professional assessment during the consultation.
